Killarney has been a golfing destination for over a century. The town's centrepiece — Killarney Golf & Fishing Club — regularly features on lists of the world's most beautiful courses, and for good reason.

Courses

Killarney Golf & Fishing Club — Mahony's Point
📍 Mahony's Point, Killarney⛳ 18 holes · Par 72🏆 Championship course
Arguably the most photographed golf hole in Ireland — the 18th green juts into Lough Leane with the MacGillycuddy's Reeks rising behind it. Mahony's Point has hosted the Irish Open and is consistently ranked among Europe's top parkland courses. Visitor green fees from €80–130 depending on season.
Killarney Golf & Fishing Club — Killeen
📍 Mahony's Point, Killarney⛳ 18 holes · Par 72🏆 Championship course
The sister course to Mahony's Point and the venue for the Irish Open on multiple occasions. Slightly longer and more demanding than Mahony's Point, with equally spectacular lake views. Both courses can be played in one day as a 36-hole combination.
Beaufort Golf Club
📍 Beaufort, 10km west⛳ 18 holes · Par 71💰 Excellent value
A hidden gem set in the shadow of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks with views of Gap of Dunloe. Significantly more affordable than Killarney Golf Club, and equally beautiful. A favourite among locals. Green fees from €30–50.
Ross Golf Club
📍 Ross Road, Killarney⛳ 18 holes · Par 71💰 Budget-friendly
The most affordable course in the Killarney area, just a short walk from the town centre. A good option for casual golfers and those wanting a quick round. Parkland setting with views of Lough Leane. Green fees from €20.
Ring of Kerry Golf Club
📍 Templenoe, Kenmare (40km)⛳ 18 holes · Par 72🌊 Coastal views
Worth the drive for the spectacular Kenmare Bay views. One of Ireland's finest links-style courses, stretching along the Wild Atlantic Way. Best combined with a visit to Kenmare town for dinner afterwards.
Booking tip
Killarney Golf & Fishing Club gets booked up months in advance during peak season (June–August). Book directly through their website at least 6–8 weeks ahead. Midweek slots are easier to get and often cheaper. Early morning tee times offer the best light for photography.

Golf packages

Most Killarney hotels offer golf packages that bundle accommodation with green fees at one or more courses. The Killarney Park Hotel, Muckross Park Hotel and Aghadoe Heights Hotel all have established relationships with the golf clubs and can arrange preferential tee times for guests.

Several tour operators also offer 3–7 day golf touring packages that combine Killarney with courses along the Wild Atlantic Way — Ballybunion, Tralee, Waterville and Lahinch are all within reasonable driving distance.
